When can I Apply to Medicare Online?
The very first time you can apply to Medicare is called your Initial Enrollment Period. This is a 7-month Initial Enrollment Period that typically:
- Begins 3 months before the month you turn 65

- Ends 3 months after the month you turn 65
However, if you sign up and then decide you want to change plans, you can do so. What happens After I Apply Online?
In most cases, once your application is submitted electronically, you’re done. Social Security will process your application and contact you by telephone or by mail if any further information is needed.
